It’s day six and we are still in ICU. There are hopes of moving her to a room today or tomorrow.

Here is the thing I wanted to tell you: Several nurses have told me, they “can feel something big going on in her room.” They said, they can feel many people praying for our girl who loves music because, “there is something different in there” “she is wrapped in a blanket of love.” they said.

I told them all how you have been praying, and praying, and praying.

and

It’s working!

So here is the news for today:

Physical therapy had her sit up on the side of the bed yesterday.  They told us how strong she is, and how amazing it is that she can move everything.

She is voicing more, and even though the staff thinks she is amazing for be able to use two languages . . . they want her to use less ASL.  Voicing will help her throat heal. . .  she’s not swallowing very well and so can not have anything to drink or eat.  It turns out swallowing is very complicated and it takes a lot to just do this act we take for granted.  But, I know today she will be stronger still and master this too.

She’s not moving the left side of her face as we would like and her hearing is off.  I am sure all this will take time. . . and tomorrow I’ll have news of how her whole face smiled and not just one side.

I’m off to the hospital to reliever her fisherman father and let him come home to rest.

Again, we thank you for your love, prayer and concern.  I don’t know how we could make it without you.

Love from my fisherman and his wife

  1. Oh my goodness, Lisa. I just saw a link to your blog that Christine provided. I had no idea you were going through this (again). I’m so thankful that your girl is improving and I will join your army of prayer warriors for continued healing!
