In four days we celebrate the heart that was transplanted.

The other side of transplant hasn’t been an easy walk, but it has been a good walk.

and for that we are grateful.

In four years: we have partied like it was 1999 at three weddings – our two sons and that ninja we love to claim.  In that four years we have had four graduations among these people, a trip to Disney, dance recitals, fires on the beach, an accident that drove us to our knees, recovery, many, many trips to hospitals, tears, laughter, Champagne popped to celebrate, night time mimosas drunk because we made it to  Wednesday and “we still kick’n”, bad dancing in the living room, music to loud, big band concerts, floats down a river, photography studio building, shower planning and the new life coming our way as we get our arms ready for our first granddaughter and company.

We are reminded again and again – this life is good. . . oh so good.

It’s a funny thing this life though. It moves so fast.  Sometimes we have a hard time keeping up. I find pictures of kids as young teens laughing, celebrating birthdays and I think, when did we blink?

and then there is that one thing we never take our mind off of –  that heart of his – that is not ours.

In four years, all we know is the heart beats inside the Fisherman and everyday,  our Catholic faith gives us prayers for the rightful owner of that heart,  his family & all our loved ones that have passed.

and we are grateful for that.  It all gives us peace,  and makes this life moving fast even better.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
