An update on Aubrey

Hey!  I want to thank everyone for all the prayers and well wishes for Aubrey.  Y’all are truly the best! and . . . She is doing better

~ as we say in the South at times like these ~

“PRAISE THE LORD!”

This is the scoop as of today: Aubrey is out of ICU and is eating and drinking on her own now. Even though this baby girl of ours is still on dialyses, the doctors feel her kidneys should start to function within a couple of days.  We are told her stay in the hospital will be a long one but . . .for now. . . her doctors say she seems to be out of danger.   A BIG Yay!!!!!!

again ~ Let’s keep praying and I’ll keep you posted.

xoxo. . . Lisa

She’s very Sick. . . very sick

You remember Aubrey don’t you? She is my nieces baby.
George’s Granddaughter.
Aubrey is sick. Very sick! So sick that when her mother called 911 for help – 911 called for help and had this sweet little child airlifted from her home to the hospital.
From what I know today: her kidneys have shut down and she is on dialyses.
If your the praying kind – pray for her.
I’ll keep you posted,

xoxo. . . Lisa

Friday Fragment,  Favorite Photo Friday  In the Studio

If I posted in May

I can’t believe it’s almost the middle of June July 4rd ~ Independence day and I’m just now getting around to finishing this post I wanted to put up from May.  There was so much I wanted to tell you about. Sure you know about the big party and the blast from the past, but, really there was so much more.

For weeks I had planned this post in my mind but I never really took the time to get to it done.

              Now I wonder. . .  Is it to late?

I mean it’s July for crying out loud. It’s Independence day. I should be putting up pictures of fireworks. I would if I had one decent shot from the night. But, I don’t. So now here I am thinking, should I go backwards and just post what I had planned or what?  I am behind on this thing. I do enjoy posting very much.

AND I think. . .

If I posted in May one of the things I most definitely would have put on would be this picture. It’s of Matthew going to the prom with good friends. I also would have told you how bad I  felt about missing the whole getting ready for prom,  dress up and posing for picture thing.

I would have told you I missed the before prom “thing” because I was in N.C. at David’s confirmation.  I am sure I would have reminded everyone that David is Mark’s sister’s son. I’m just like that. . . I really don’t like to leave people hanging and keep them wondering ab…

Then I would have said Mark was David’s Confirmation sponsor and the serves was quite lovely. I really was happy we were there.
I would have told you not to worry to much about me missing the festivities for Matthew because I didn’t  actually miss seeing him in his Tux.   When I asked Matthew to put the tux on for me the day before he quickly obliged.  He’s a good son and ~ we all know ~ he loves his momma.

I would have told you how I happily adjusted the vest and took pictures of my very handsome son that day.

remember thinking ~  I really wish I could be a the meeting place with all the other moms for the picture fun. You know to make sure everything went off okay and just to make sure my little boy would be alright with those people and that girl.

 Who is very lovely by the way. I really do like her very much.

 ~  This is “my baby” we are talking about.  My Little boy. . . He’s only 6ft. 2 inches in height and you know something could happen to him.

 and then the it occurred to me ~

 If Mark and I couldn’t be there on this very important night. . . then who would be the next best person to send.

Who did I know with experience in this kind of thing? This person had to be someone that could go undercover and check things out without being to pushy or maybe  this person could be just pushy enough but could get away with it.    You know the type.  But, who???

The Best Nana Ever! That’s who. . .

She did a superb job! and all went well with the night.  The kids had a great time.

One thing I know I would have liked to post in May would
have been this picture. It’s a picture of Brian and Father Theo at Brian’s
First Communion. I would have mentioned how happy and excited Brian was to finally
receive the Body of Christ.

I also would have mentioned all this took place the same day
as the big party. I would have mentioned how the whole day was a world wind of changing
clothes, getting ready and celebrations for us all. I would have mentioned this
very important fact about Brian on this post. . .if I posted in May. But, you
know what? I totally forgot.

I totally forgot to
even post this picture.

I even forgot my camera that morning and last night after I
hit post on this post, I went to bed. Then it hit me, I remembered I completely
forgot about Brian’s First Communion.
As the family
reporter it’s my duty to remember these things.  Don’t you think?

I even forgot my three older kids served for this very important
Mass. I would like to think I
would have told you all about IF I remembered my camera that morning. I was
lucky my sister had remembered hers. I mean after all. This is her kid. We were
lucky one of us was thinking that morning.

The next thing I would have told you about. . .If I posted in May …was about Kathryn running with the Girls on the Run group. I would have told you how awesome the whole Girls on the Run  organization is and how happy I was we got involved with this club. Kathryn and her new friends trained for months together. The finial test was “the Swamp Rabbit 5k”. The girls, their moms and everyone else in the state ran this thing.  It was so wonderful. We had a great time.  I tell you there will be more of these for her.

My last post for May probably would have mentioned the Peterson family moved; we said goodbye to our Stephanie,  baby Aubrey and Steph’s husband Brian.  If I posted this picture I think I would have wanted to say something like ~ WOW! They’re a good looking family.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And just because It’s not May, it’s is July 4,  Independence Day. . . and most importantly to him,  it’s this guys birthday I have to say. . .
Happy Birthday Brian!!!!!!
The Weavers of the Fabric ~
It has been said that woman are the weavers of the fabric of society. For without woman we would not have the family.  Without woman we would not have the guidance or the  direction of our mothers.
My father would say, woman are the strength of society and most importantly the strength of the family. He would say, emotionality woman are the stronger sex. He would also say, It is woman who make or break the family.
In honor of Mothers this week, the theme over at I Heart Faces is Motherhood.
This photo is of my niece’s daughter and my mother,  the child’s great grandmother. This is the photo that says motherhood to me.
In this photo I see the  gentle guidance a woman gives to the ones she loves throughout her life. I see how a mother holds a hand dearly when one needs it and then somehow that woman gently points in the right direction, like only a mother can.
Happy Mothers Day!
Happy 13th Birthday BUT!
Last weekend was Bailey’s 13th birthday.
A Great Big Party was thrown.
13!
Now, everyone knows behind every great party there is a great Nana who will throw that party.
And It was so. . . there were presents,
games,
a zip lines,
and new friends to be made.
But,
There was just one thing. . . There is a slight. . . well I think it’s a huge mystery when it come to the cake.  Okay, I said it ~ It’s a huge mystery when it comes to the cake!
Now again, everyone knows the cake is the most important thing when it comes to the success of that party.
RIGHT???
Of course!
You see, my mother makes a killer cake. As Auntie says, we may not know good fruit BUT we know a good chocolate cake when we smell one.
Monday my mother told me she was making a cake for this party. I know my mother. She doesn’t mess around when it comes to chocolate cake. She makes this out of the world chocolate cake. It melts in your mouth.
Melts! In your Mouth!
I mean it’s so good you will plan ahead and think to your self. . .SELF. . .we have the cake tomorrow. Do you really want to eat that today and worry about big numbers on the scale after we have had the cake?
NO!
You starve and wait for the cake. Because it has frosting made from heaven!
HEAVEN!
See, you can see it here. . .This was a cake my mother made for Kathryn’s birthday week. Can you see how wonderful it looks?
Her cakes are always home made. The frosting is about a half-inch thick of . . . F-U-D-G-E . . . This is a Fudge frosting that melts in your mouth. Fudge like only your Great Aunt Betsy makes and my mom has the recipe!
It’s Drop dead delicious Fudge Frosting that will send you to your knees. Fudge that you will run that extra 6 miles for! and say THANK YOU JESUS!!! THANK YOU for making fudge and putting it on cake.
Now, here’s the thing:
I don’t want to accuse anyone of anything. That’s just not the kind of  blog I’m running here…but you know…I’m kind of upset…because there was canned frosting on this cake.
NO! FUDGE!
CANNED!  Betty Crocker. . .
I‘ll say it again. I know your shocked! CANNED! BETTY CROCKER! NO! FUDGE!
NO! FUDGE!
You can only imagine my disappointed. . .I skipped meals for this cake. . . I ran a few extra miles in the morning to have this cake.
 My mother “says” she put the fudge frosting on the cake and sent it out to have it decorated.  I’m not going to tell you who decorated this cake at all because, like i said before. . .that’s just not the kind of blog I’m running here.
BUT!
If you guys figure out it was her mother ~ I can’t help it that you’r smart.
YOUR JUST SMART!
The cake looked really nice! It was decorated into a paint ball target thing or whatever.  Our girl is very talented!
 VERY TALENTED!
But, can she be trusted??? Did my mother even put the fudge frosting on this cake??? Can my mother be trusted?
I just don’t know where to turn.
I heard something said about the cake being easier to decorate with a different frosting on it.  I just have one thing to say. . .
WHAT???
I just want to know one thing?
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FUDGE FROSTING???
What happened!?
Did I tell you I was really looking forward to the cake. . .Did I mention that at all???  HELLO???
I Heart Faces is having another photo challenge. So, of course I want to play.
This weeks theme is  “Best Face Photo from March 2011.”
I love this photo of my brother George and his 19 month old granddaughter Aubrey. To me, only the “Best Faces”  show love. That’s what I see when I look at this picture.
