Golden light on this beauty and I walk in and see. Ohhhhh!!! Don’t move, I tell her.
and she gives me what I want. I take the only shot of that Thanksgiving feast.
I put Nikon down and think about what’s next. There was a wedding shower to give in two days.
I forget about the shot. . . grateful our Brown eyed beauty & her new husband were with us.
And it’s funny how things work. . . Tomorrow’s her birthday and today I stumble through Lightroom and discover it.
I pause and miss her hard . . . like I miss that Philosopher husband of hers.
51.) two beautiful daughters in laws who love me. . . God is good!
52.) beautiful sky
54.) chat with a neighbor
55.) invites to dinner
56.) stillness with a sister
57.) bumping into people happy to see me
58.) friends trusting with their portraits
59.) up early
60.) hugs from the boy with glasses and curly hair at Publix
July this brown eyed girl joined our family and has made it even more beautiful.
She married our son the Philosopher in the most beautiful wedding Mass where incense rose to the heavens, and the Fisherman said, “We hit the jackpot with this one.“
I took a deep breath to take it all and I knew it was true. There is nothing more a mother could want for her son. She is perfect for him . . . us.
and then we all danced until the cows came home.
best part of being a photographer. . . being able to do your future daughter in laws wedding portraits
friends who say your stupid dog is okay playing at their house.
cooler summer days
long phone conversations with my son
photos of new finds from her
many, many hugs from my youngest today
Today is the first day of December and my heart is light. We had quite an impressive storm last night that sent us all running towards shelter. But, the morning is glorious. Isn’t that the way it always is?
It’s no lie that 2016 has proven to be an amazing year. . . a year we will never forget.
It was named the year of Mercy in the Catholic Church. . . and through this year, “His Mercy has filled us“.
I had the privilege of photographing these two last weekend. Engagement photos for our Philosopher and his brown eyed girl.
and this brown eyed girl . . . Oh, what a love she is.
impromptu conversations in a parking lot
calls about safety
surprise texts from a much loved cousin
a photograph sent to me that I love
messages of love
safety from the storm
support for each other
It’s already Saturday and I haven’t posted these photos yet.
The week has been one of those one step forward – three steps backwards weeks.
I hate those weeks.
But, I love these photos and I love this girl.
She is my son’s girlfriend. She was nice enough to pose for me the other night and help me along with this photography thing.
One of the many things I love about her is how much she truly loves that little girl of mine.
